An award-winning social media manager, I work as part of the Rose of Tralee International Festival management team, with responsibility for the Festival's digital profile, including social media and website (www.roseoftralee.ie).
We recently won the industry gold award for Best Use of Social Media at the Accenture Digital Media Awards, the Rabo Tweetie Most Popular TV Programme, and Best Social Media Marketing from the Association of Irish Festivals and Events.
A freelance social media manager, I provide social media consultation, mentorship and support to small businesses and start-ups. I've attended conferences as a speaker and presented on social media strategy. I am on the Kerry Local Enterprise Office panel of mentors for social media.
Prior to the Rose of Tralee Festival, I worked for NTL Cable Communications in the UK, in the broadcast division where I managed the local community channel. I also worked on the early development of their video on demand products and services.
I have achieved recognition for my creative writing, and am a published novelist. My work has featured in several online journals and anthologies, including RTE’s 100 Words 100 Books, the Short Fiction Journal, Brilliant Flash Fiction and In Litro Magazine.
I won the augural Kerry’s Eye Short Story Competition, and was the only writer in Ireland to be selected to take part in the 2014 Twitter Fiction Festival with my story told in diminishing Tweets.
